It evaluates all of the x-rays. It tells you all of the cavities, infections, and a lot of other things, and it just prints out a piece of paper. So if you don't wanna go to a second dentist, at least use some type of artificial intelligence that will help screen all of these recommendations. And it allows you a little bit more information, and you can use this information to make a good decision on how to move forward with the treatment.

I was so skeptical when first adding AI radiographic interpretation (Pearl) to normal office workflow, but to date, this tech has opened my eyes to SO MANY lesions that I would have missed (and it's much easier to talk to patients about stuff when it all looks so obvious).
Love this program! I can show patients what's going on, but different parts of their teeth, how far the decay is through the enamel and into the dentin, and what do we have going on right here. It's very cool!
More studies like this are in order. It would be useful, for instance, to drill deeper to see if the discrepancy evident in this study persists for caries across varying degrees of severity. Does the discrepancy exist between caries which only impact enamel, dentin, etc? The more data we have to give credence to the merits of AI diagnostics the better, because it is this sort of data that will help doctors embrace AI as a tool for bringing greater excellence and confidence to their patient care.
Most patients are visual learners. They have to see it to understand it. Pearl AI offers an exceptional visual support tool for patients. It is a great communication tool for doctors and hygienists. We have experienced a significant increase in treatment acceptance since utilizing Pearl.
My office was recently flooded requiring us to condense our schedule by 70% giving priority to hygiene appointments and emergencies. With Pearl, my assistants were able to go through my operative schedule with our office manager and evaluate the procedures that were scheduled to confidently determine which procedures could be pushed out a couple weeks. This was a very hectic time and allowed me to focus on the patients I could see and allow my staff to manage my schedule.
