Pearl, a leader in dental AI solutions, today announced the appointment of Gad Sakin as Chief Technology Officer and Sana Rahim as Head of People. These strategic hires come as Pearl continues to expand its impact on the dental industry through AI-powered innovations that improve patient care, clinician workflows, and practice efficiencies.
Pearl’s culture is grounded in curiosity, creativity, and a shared mission to transform an industry through the ethical use of AI
“Gad and Sana bring deep expertise and complementary skills to our team. Gad’s proven track record in scaling technology organizations, particularly in the growing healthcare AI sector, will be instrumental as Pearl accelerates the maturation of our technology organization,” said Ophir Tanz, founder and CEO of Pearl. “Sana’s experience in building high-performance cultures enables us to expand upon the incredible growth we experienced in 2024 and ensures we maintain our commitment to attracting and nurturing top talent.”
Gad Sakin joins Pearl from Viz.AI where he oversaw research and development, product management, and product strategy. At Viz.AI, Gad helped scale the technology organization during a period of rapid growth, a journey he will replicate at Pearl. With a passion for using technology to enhance communication between patients and clinicians and drive improved clinical outcomes, Gad will now apply his recent experience to the dental industry.
“Over the past six years, Pearl has rapidly expanded our product suite to meet customers where they are - in their offices, sitting with patients, driving better outcomes with the power of AI. As we grow and deepen our capabilities, we need a technology leader who has been through important corporate and technical inflection points before,” said Cambron Carter, co-founder and former CTO of Pearl. “I brought in Gad to helm our technology organization because he is exactly that kind of leader. As I continue to advance Pearl’s mission as co-founder, I can’t wait to see the company’s vision for the dental future fulfilled under Gad’s leadership.”
"I believe technology can transform healthcare in profound ways, and the opportunity to impact dentistry at this scale is incredibly exciting. Pearl is an ambitious company, tackling a hard problem with the potential to change millions of lives," said Sakin. "I’m thrilled to be joining the team and helping shape Pearl’s engineering efforts as the company continues to deliver industry-shaping products to market."
Sana Rahim brings extensive experience in building and scaling teams in high-growth environments, having worked previously at various education technology startups including Brightwheel as they scaled from dozens to hundreds of employees. Sana is passionate about cultivating high-performance cultures and creating organizational processes that unlock growth. At Pearl, she will lead the people function and support the company’s rapid hiring efforts as Pearl expands its team to meet explosive demand.
“Pearl’s culture is grounded in curiosity, creativity, and a shared mission to transform an industry through the ethical use of AI,” said Rahim. “I’m excited to help build on that foundation by bringing in individuals who are innovative, driven, and passionate about the potential of AI to improve dental care. Our success depends on attracting and developing talent that can thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.”
In 2024, Pearl more than doubled its workforce, growing from 50 to 135 employees. As the company continues to expand, Sakin and Rahim’s leadership will play a critical role in scaling Pearl’s operations and ensuring the company is poised for continued success.
